The senior pastor must remain, at all times, the lead person of the transition into a cells-based church. This is critical to the success of the transition! And, every member of his/her executive team, without exception, must follow his/her lead. Cells is not a program … it’s the church’s new way of doing life.

Depending on a variety of circumstances, the successful transition of a church in a Western context may take up to 5-7 years to complete. The senior pastor who cannot commit to this length of time is best advised not to begin the transition. This ambitious exercise is not something that can be handed over to someone else mid-way through the transition.

Having a “Joshua” attending to the “nuts and bolts” of the transition does not negate the critical importance of the senior pastor from carrying the cells-banner upfront in the lead. The role of the leadership is critical to the success of the transition!

El pastor que no puede comprometerse en este perodo de tiempo, mejor recomienda no iniciar la transición. Este ejercicio ambicioso no es algo que pueda ser entregado a otra persona a mediados de la transición.

Tener un “Joshua“, atendiendo a las “tuercas y tornillos“ de la transición no niega la importancia fundamental del pastor principal de llevar las pancartas en la delantera. El papel del liderazgo es fundamental para el éxito de la transición!
